Welcoming Committee - a new group for 2016/2017!
In the spring of 2016, two of our fine students, Jordan Lichtenberger and Madi Beason submitted a proposal to create a group whose only goal was to help the incoming freshmen adjust to high school. After being approved, approximately 60 students volunteered to be a part of the new committee. They met several times over the summer to plan for their kick-off event, Freshmen Orientation. They planned and organized a bake sale, with the proceeds to be used for social mixers, and created a banner that all of the freshmen signed on the day of orientation. That banner is now hanging in the freshmen hallway as a reminder that their year will be a success. During orientation, the committee members also greeted new students as they entered the building, helped them trouble-shoot locker combinations, and assisted in finding classrooms. Moving forward, the Welcoming Committee is planning a series of “mixers”, small social events to be held after school during the fall for the freshmen. Thank you to everyone who is participating in the welcoming Committee. You are a shining example of how great Cabrini students are!
