Using simple manila file folders, CHS Engineering students built bridges to investigate how structures carry loads. Watch this amazing video!
Students in the engineering class are participating in the MDOT TRAC bridge competition. Teams of 11 and 12th graders from around the state of Michigan were tasked to build a truss through tied arch bridge using balsa wood, kite string, and glue. Those teams who are chosen to compete in the finals will travel to Grand Rapids, where their designs will be tested. The team with the best load to weight ratio will be awarded a cash prize.
